Deborah Kostic travelled to White Plains, New York Monday, ready to help with clean up and recovery after Sandy moves through.

However, the Red Cross volunteer found herself in the middle of the storm as it delivered its heavy blow.

She says, "White Plains has been hit hard by strong winds, and the store fronts blown out, and we were supposed to be one of the safer places to be, but now you kind of wonder."

Kostic usually helps making sure other volunteers are taken care of disaster situations, but she expects starting Tuesday she'll be helping victims who need shelter.
