The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office is searching for two suspects they say are involved with an armed robbery in the Plantersville community.
The incident happened around 5:00 p.m. Sunday on Philippi Lane. Carrie Cuthbertson says the victims stopped on the road to pick up downed tree limbs blocking the road when "two men came out of the woods armed with what appeared to be a handgun and a shotgun. The suspects demanded money and took the female victim's purse."
Cuthbertson goes on to say as the victims were backing away the suspects fired several shots at their vehicle then fled on foot on Jackson Village Road. No one was injured.
The Sheriff's Office bloodhound tracking team tracked the suspects for a short distance, but they have not been caught.
If you have any information about the robbery you're asked to call the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office at (843) 546-5101.
