Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash Friday morning in Florence County.

A man driving a Dodge pickup truck crossed the center line on Old River Road, and hit a Penske truck head-on, according to Lance Corporal Sonny Collins.

It happened about 9:19 a.m., about four miles north of Highway 378.

The pickup driver was wearing a seatbelt. He died on the scene, Lance Cpl. Collins said.

The coroner has identified the man as Charles Casselman, 59, of Andrews.

The driver of the Penske truck was taken to McLeod Hospital.

Troopers don't expect any charges to be filed.
