United States Attorney Bill Nettles announced that Dawud Abdullah Khalid, 38, pleaded guilty in federal court to Escape.
Khalid was serving a federal sentence for conspiracy to distribute cocaine and crack cocaine when he escaped from the Federal Correctional Institution in Bennettsville, on July 17.
Khalid was captured later the same day, when he was found hiding in woods near the prison.
The maximum penalty Khalid can receive is a fine of $250,000 and/or imprisonment for 5 years, according to Nettles.
