MARLBORO COUNTY, SC (WPDE) - South Carolina Highway Patrol says one person died after a car crash in Marlboro County.
Cpl. Bob Beres says around 5:20 a.m. Sunday a Chevy Impala was traveling north on US 15 near Sandy Ocean BBQ when the vehicle ran off the road and hit a tree.
The vehicle then caught fire, according to Beres.
Marlboro County Coroner Tim Brown identified the victim as Jermaine Jackson, 28, of Society Hill.
Beres adds the vehicle was so badly burned officials could not determine what the exact year of the Impala model.
Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
