Motorcycles have taken over the Grand Strand for thepast week, but the Fall Bike Rally ended on Sunday and the bikers are rolling out of town.
Karl Matthews attended his 6th Fall Bike Rally this year and says his motorcycle is much more than a vehicle.
"It's more than just a motorcycle, it's a lifestyle," said Matthews.
Owner of Myrtle Beach Harley Davidson, Phil Schoonover, says the bike rally has seen it's ups and downs over the past 12 years.
Schoonover said this years Fall Bike Rally produced an average crowd.
Matthews believes attendance is up since Myrtle Beach overturned their previous helmet law.
"It's kind of a rebuilding stage so to speak," said Matthews.
Schoonover said he noticed a new addition to the crowd this year.
"We had more young preschoolers in the store this year than we've ever had before," said Schoonover.
Matthews says no matter what the age, if they are riding on a Harley, they're one of the gang.
"It's a big family. You meet new people all the time and you form a bond with those people," said Matthews.
Schoonover hopes, in the future, that the dates are changed for the Fall Bike Rally so it doesn't coincide with other bike events in various states.
