According to Capt. Cliff Arnette of the Dillon County Sheriff's office, a body was found in Dillon County.
Dillon County Coroner Donnie Grimsley said 28-year-old Faquan Thompson was found dead on the front porch of a home on Arrie Road.
The sheriff's office and the State Law Enforcement Division are investigating Thompson's death as a homicide.
An autopsy Sunday revealed Thompson was shot.
Thompson died on the door steps of the home while his girlfriend was asleep inside the home, according to Arnette.
His mother, Hester, was at the crime scene Saturday afternoon.
"It really hurts to see your son laying down dead with a sheet over his head," said Hester Thompson. "I'm reaching out now. If anybody knows what happened to my son would you take and give us that truth. That's all we ask for is the truth. No lies. Just the truth."
