An attraction unlike any other is coming to the Grand Strand.

Asian Wonderland is expected to open in Myrtle Beach next year.

Organizers announced the cultural festival Thursday and they expect about ten percent of Myrtle Beach's 14.5 million tourists will visit the exhibit.

While they hope it brings in the Asian community as well, they say its also an educational opportunity for locals.

"This is another outside of the box look at how to do business and we've got a great opportunity here and i think we should seize that opportunity," said Mayor John Rhodes.

Officials are in negotiations to go on the old Myrtle Square Mall property, across from the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.

There will be a lantern festival, a food festival, and other performances.
