Mary Lynn Boggs, 46, is charged with three felony counts of Unlawful Neglect of a Child.

Myrtle Beach police started investigating allegations last Friday that Boggs was holding children down under blankets during nap time on the dates of August 31 and September 20 in the one-year-old class at the Teaching Learning Center daycare at Ocean View Baptist Church in Myrtle Beach.

"They investigated that, it looked like it started to occur the end of August until just about a week ago. The investigation provided that she was holding the children down," Lt. Doug Furlong with Myrtle Beach Police said.

Police got a warrant and contacted Boggs.

Boggs turned herself in Thursday. She was booked into the Myrtle Beach jail at 6:32 a.m.

A judge set her bond at $150,000, $50,000 for each count.

Ocean View Baptist Church Missional Pastor Everett B. Douglas released the following statement:

"Our primary concern is and always has been the safety and health of the children in our care at Ocean View Teaching Learning Center. The necessary agencies and individuals have been notified and this matter is under investigation. The teacher is no longer employed with Ocean View Teaching Learning Center. It is not appropriate to comment further with this matter under investigation."

Thursday, Teaching Learning Center was open and parents could be seen taking their children too and from classes and preschool daycare. Some parents we spoke with didn't want to go on camera, but were comfortable with keeping their kids at the center.

Mother Leah Fouch has a three year old in a music class and says the only reason why she's keeping her child enrolled is because she sits in on the classes too.

"It's definitely shocking, it's, once again, its just terrifying. So hard to think of what is going on and that could be your child. And it is somebody's child and you know it just breaks your heart," Fouch said.
