Around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, a Loris man sent police on a chase from Airport Road and Highway 701 all the way to Tabor City, North Carolina, according to a police report.

Horry County Police noticed suspicious driving on Highway 701 and tried to follow closer to check the tags.

As the officer tried to follow closer, Antwan Chestnut, 33, of Loris started driving away over 70 miles per hour in a reckless manner.

The officer then attempted to pull over Chestnut by putting on his blue lights and his siren.

Chestnut then pulled over into the Fired Up Gas station lot, the officer followed him, but Chestnut took off again down 701 to the North Carolina line, according to the report.

While the officer chased Chestnut, Tabor City police were advised of the pursuit and had units ready.

Horry County police followed Chestnut to the stateline into North Carolina.

Minutes later, Tabor City police called Horry County to say they had Chestnut in custody.

He is charged with Failure to Stop for a Blue Light, Driving Under Suspension, and Reckless Driving.

Chestnut had been arrested previously in March for Failure to Stop for a Blue Light as well.
