The City of Hartsville received a $500,000 grant from the South Carolina Department of Commerce to put in security cameras, fix broken sidewalks and light the city's Oakdale neighborhood.

The city will also buy a home to be used by a Hartsville police officer to increase police presence there.

Hartsville leaders hope to have the projects done by the end of the year.
