Florence County deputies arrested three men and have a warrant for two more, who they say are responsible for a major burglary ring.
Deputies arrested Lorenzo Roary, 18, and Jamario Gardner, 19, both of Florence, on Tuesday and charged them each with four counts of Burglary. As a result of those arrests, deputies obtained search warrants for two homes on Trotwood Drive on Wednesday. They found some property stolen in the burglaries and plan to return it to the owners as soon as possible.
Deputies arrested William Sweeney, 18, of Florence on Wednesday and charged him with seven counts of Burglary, Second Degree.
Over the past several weeks, numerous businesses have been burglarized in both the City of Florence and the county, resulting in damage to the buildings, the theft of inventory and cash. Since September 1, burglaries have occurred at the Subway Sandwich Shop on West Palmetto Street in Florence, the NAPA Auto Parts Store in Timmonsville, 76 Pawn and Gun in Timmonsville, the Burger King on West Palmetto Street in Florence, the Advance Auto Store on West Palmetto Street in Florence, M.A. Ellis on West Evans Street in Florence, the PC Zone on Second Loop in Florence and the Hot Spot Convenience Store in Timmonsville.
Investigators have arrest warrants for Reginald Danyall Smith, 21, and Calvis Shadontrail Hill, 19, both of Florence, also wanted for the burglaries. If you know where either one of them may be, you're asked to call the Florence County Sheriff's Office at (843) 665-2121, ext. 373 or Crime Stoppers of the Pee Dee at 1-888-CRIME-SC. You do not have to reveal your identity to leave information.
More arrests are likely.
Under South Carolina law, Burglary, Second Degree is a felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison.
