HARTSVILLE -- Officials with the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) say they've closed the case on the Agrium plant fire in Hartsville.

SLED says the cause of the fire is unfounded and has been ruled accidental. Officials say the electrical control panel was overheated, but they can't say for sure if that's what sparked the fire.

Last Valentine's Day, a fire destroyed the plant and forced residents in a nearby community to evacuate their homes.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing flames from miles away.

The company cleaned the 32 acre property the plant once rested on, but decided not to rebuild.

The plant employed 60 people
