Athletes from all six of Robeson County's high school football teams will step on the field this Friday with commemorative stickers on their helmets.

The stickers honor the memory of Lumberton police officer Jeremiah Goodson, who was shot and killed while trying to serve a warrant on a suspect on July 17.

Marque Brown has been charged with first degree murder in Goodson's death.

The stickers on the helmet read "JG 45" and represent Goodson's initials and and car number.

Robeson County School District athletic director Jason Suggs says they wanted to do something to honor the fallen officer and they thought the commemorative stickers were appropriate.

Suggs says all of the coaches were on board and thought it was a great idea.
