Robeson County deputies charged Robert McIntyre, 62, with Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill.
Deputies say he stopped a car his girlfriend, Lawanna Lowery, 32, was riding in at a business on Lowe Road in Lumberton Wednesday night.
They say McIntyre was upset that Lowery was out with friends. Officers say the two argued and that's when MyIntyre shot her in the neck.
Deputies say several people witnessed the shooting and called 911.
Lowery survived the shooting. She was taken to the hospital, but her condition is not being released at this time.
McIntyre was arrested three hours following the shooting and booked at the Robeson County Detention Center.
He remains there on a $50,000 bond.
