As Tropical Storm Isaac's path continues for the Gulf Coast, hurricane warnings have been issued from Louisiana to the Florida panhandle. Louisiana and Mississippi have declared states of emergency.

Isaac moved through the Florida Keys Sunday as a tropical storm. Intensification is expected now that Isaac has moved over the warm Gulf waters, and some models suggest it will become a Category 2 hurricane by the time it makes landfall.

The U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami says Isaac is expected to hit somewhere between southeastern Louisiana and the Florida Panhandle either late Tuesday or early Wednesday.

Oil companies have been scrambling out of Isaac's path, withdrawing offshore workers and cutting oil and gas production in the Gulf of Mexico.
