Tabor City Police say a shooting early this Thursday morning is likely connected to a string of crimes overnight in the area.
Police say David Grubbs was found shot in his car in the parking of Great Grace Church around 6 a.m. They believe he was trying to get back items stolen from his son a short time earlier, including a cell phone.
Investigators say he was shot in the left side of the neck, and the bullet exited the right side of his face.
