Myrtle Beach police charged Emily Pugh and Crystal Sturkey-McCurry Monday after they say they found two thin and dirty dogs whining behind a home on Columbia Drive.

Pugh told police she was kicking her roommate, Sturkey-McCurry, out and says she did feed the dogs from time to time, but didn't feel it was her responsibility because they are not her dogs.

Sturkey-McCurry said she went to the home when Pugh wasn't there to feed the dogs and thought the dogs were OK.

Police took the dogs to the Humane Society.
