Horry County announced Wednesday that Myrtle Beach International Airport's average airfares are the lowest in the state according to the US Bureau of Transportation Statistics.
The release says BTS statistics for 2011 show that the average fare at Myrtle Beach International was $268.
Florence Regional Airport was second at $373.
The highest was Columbia Metropolitan Airport at $501.
"Our primary focus is customer service and keeping airport costs low as we transition into the new terminal. We continue to work with our existing carriers for additional service and capacity, as well as, exploring all available opportunities," stated Mike La Pier, Director of Airports.
Horry county says MYR has had the lowest average fares in the state for four years running.
