Driver dies when SUV flips in Marion County

In 1998 Victoria was named Assistant News Director/Reporter for the Myrtle Beach bureau and in 1999 became News Director.

MARION COUNTY -- One person has died in a single car crash involving a Ford Explorer traveling south on Highway 501 Bypass in Marion County around  2:30 p.m. Sunday.

Highway Patrol Corporal Bob Beres says the driver ran off the left side of the highway, struck a telephone pole, flipped and was thrown from the SUV.

Cpl. Beres says the driver was not wearing a seat belt.

We'll post the driver's identity when it is released by the Marion County Coroner.
