A Murrells Inlet man charged with Soliciting a Minor for Sex in 2009 pleaded guilty in court this week.
Oneil B. Byrdic, 50, of Murrells Inlet, was arrested on September 17, 2009, in an undercover Internet sting conducted by the Attorney General's Office.
Byrdic was arrested on one count of Criminal Solicitation of a Minor, and one count of Disseminating Obscene Material to a Minor.
The Horry County Public Index reveals that Byrdic was sentenced to serve three years in jail and three years probation, in succession.
He also must pay court costs.
Arrest warrants say that beginning on June 2, 2009, Byrdic solicited sex on the Internet from an individual he believed to be a 13-year-old girl but he was communicating with an undercover investigator for the Attorney General's Office.
A search warrant was executed on Byrdic's residence, and a computer, modem, and web camera were seized.
The Horry County Sheriff's Office and the City of Myrtle Beach Police Department assisted with the case.
