Myrtle Beach Adrenaline Adventures says it increased safety procedures after an employee fell from the zipline and was hospitalized.
The company says Gerard O'Sullivan didn't clip into his safety harness when he fell off the platform and broke both his ankles.
O'Sullivan is stable in the intensive care unit at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
"The zip line was closed and underwent a full safety inspection at the time of the accident at which time it was determined the accident was a result of employee error," the company said in a press release. "At the request of MBAA the zip line was also inspected by Wagner Consulting Group, Inc. who found the ride to be safe and full compliance of all safety regulations."
Myrtle Beach Adrenaline Adventures says although they are not required to do so, it added netting around both towers, more employee safety awareness signs, and increased employee safety awareness training. It says safety is a top priority.
The ride remains open. It's on the old Pavilion site between Ocean Boulevard and Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach.
