The Conway chapter of Disabled American Veterans held their annual dinner Thursday night.
Disabled veterans gathered at the Senior Citizens Center in Conway to celebrate Independence Day, and to enjoy some food. Chicken bog and barbeque ribs were on the menu.
Everyone was entertained by the camaraderie and singing.
The Junior Vice Commander of the Conway chapter says these disabled veterans take care of others who were hurt while serving.
"Disabled American Veterans help disabled veterans. We help them with their claims and all the other things they need to navigate through the VA system," said Wendall Allen.
The organization recently raised enough money to buy a van to transport veterans to and from the VA hospital in Charleston.
