Horry County Council announced a new economic incentive Tuesday night at their meeting that could bring almost 80 jobs to Horry County.

Council passed the first vote on a proposal that would offer the company a property tax cut for 20 years.

In return, the company, which is not being named, will spend $3 million to expand.

They will also add 79 jobs over the course of 3 years.

Horry County Council Chairman Tom Rice says if this deal goes through it will be great for Horry County.

"Our unemployment in Horry County is way too high, and we need to do something to correct that."

Rice says the plan may change as they pursue the negotiations.

They will announce the name of that business once they finalize the proposal.
