The Horry County child care center, Essential Child Care, closed Thursday with no explanation to parents.
Parents showed up to the center near the backgate of the Old Air Force Base to find the place closed and dumpsters full of the children's things.
Friday, some of the parents went through the garbage to try and find the things that belonged to them, like clothes and blankets.
"Mad, first and foremost. Very upset that we entrusted these people with our children and grandchildren," said Debra Jones, grandmother of a child that attended the day care.
Jones adds she will seek legal action against the day care.
We have contacted the Department of Social Services about any possible investigation but have not heard back.
The business did have four complaints with the Better Business Bureau.
We made multiple calls to Horry County Police to get a police report, but have not heard back from them yet either.
