South Carolinians will pay an average of $2.96 per gallon Friday, which is 4 cents more than Thursday. In the Myrtle Beach area, prices jumped 2 cents overnight to $2.90.
Even though prices jumped, South Carolina is the only state in the nation with gas prices below $3, according to AAA. On June 24, the price of gas had fallen below $3 in 18 states.
The current average for the nation is $3.35 per gallon.
