Pedestrian hit and killed in Georgetown County

A pedestrian was hit and killed in Georgetown County last night.

South Carolina Highway Patrol says Freddie Holmes was driving a Ford SUV on Powell Road near Saints Delight Road about 9:15. They say a person walked out onto the road and was hit by Holmes.

Troopers say the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. No word yet on the name of the person killed.
