Fire destroys Timmonsville home
 / Tonya Brown
Charred remains is all that's left of William Damon's home on McAllister Lane in Timmonsville.
"I didn't know. I just left there. When I went there smoke was coming from everywhere until they got it out.," said Damon.
Just after 4:45 a.m. Wednesday, Damon's home went up in flames.
Timmonsville Fire Chief Mark Burroughs says when they got there, there was little they could do to save the home.
Damon's front door now sits in the middle of his yard.
"I lost everything. I ain't got no clothes, no shoes or nothing."
Damon says he plans to live with his mother until he finds a new home.
Chief Burroughs says the fire is very suspicious and they can't determine its cause or origin.
Damon says he has a pretty good idea of what caused his home to burn.
Damon explained, "I believe it come from the air conditioner . I don't know, but I think the air conditioner had a short in it... I left it on when I left the house and it was probably those wires or something."
Timmonsville-Sardis Volunteer Fire Department helped to battle the fire.
The Florence County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
