A Low Country mom is helping wounded soldiers in Afghanistan by fulfilling a simple need and answering the request from her daughter, who is in the Air Force and stationed in Afghanistan.

Brenda Frye's home has become the official shop for "Operation Flip Flops."

The goal is to provide injured soldiers with foot wear and shower shoes to wear in hospitals.

Frye's daughter Georgina requested the flip flops after noticing the soldiers didn't have adequate shoes in the hospital.

"Her patients walk around the hospital barefoot or mixed matched flip flops, or too big too small. Or whatever they can find on hand," says Brenda Frye.

Her daughter's request has sparked a full blown operation and has gone viral.
