The Folds of Honor Foundation awarded two Horry County siblings, whose father was wounded while serving in Iraq, with educational scholarships Tuesday.

Kaela Aranda, 15, is a sophomore at Socastee High School and Justin Aranda, 20, is a junior at the College of Charleston. Their father served with the U.S. Army for 20 years and was wounded during a 2003 tour in Iraq.

To date, more than 2,500 such scholarships have been given to children of service men and women across the nation to make sure families don't get left behind in the fight for our freedom.

Kaela and Justin can put the scholarships towards tuition and fees, texbooks, room and board, course-required tools and even approved tutoring.

The Folds of Honor Foundation is one of the charities supported by the Tidewater Patriot Day Charity Golf Tournament. It will be held September 3 at the Tidewater Golf Club in North Myrtle Beach.
