Three inmates at the Dillon County Detention Center have been taken to the hospital after falling down some stairs. Sunday evening around 8:00 p.m. Jail administrator Johnny Sapp says one inmate fell and hit two other inmates who were standing at the bottom of the stairs.

He says a correctional officer called 911 and two EMS units responded. Sapp says the inmates are being checked out and treated for their injuries at an area hospital.

He adds there are three armed officers at the hospital with the inmates. Once treated they'll be taken back to tthe detention center.
