ATLANTIC BEACH -- 24 traffic court cases out of Atlantic Beach were thrown out Wednesday because the police officers didn't show up.

The town fired all of its officers last July. Court cases can't move forward if the investigating officer doesn't show up.

Former Chief Randy Fisher sent NewsChannel 15 an email saying he was allowed to take time off from his current job to attend court, but no one informed him of the date.

The current chief told us today he also wasn't aware.

Some of the traffic cases were against former councilwoman Windy Price, her husband Darnell Price, and current councilwoman Carolyn Cole.
