A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed against the Florence Regional Airport by the United States.

The government filed the suit last April, saying it overpaid the airport by more than $1,000,000 in rent for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).

Airport officials argued the U.S. stopped paying rent due to the airport altogether. They say the U.S. breached the lease agreement and all renewals by virtue of its failure to pay rent to the airport, while at the same time continuing to occupy the leased space within airport's terminal building.

The airport says it has suffered damages in the form of lost rent by virtue of the breach of lease agreement.

We're still waiting to learn details as to why the lawsuit was dismissed and if there was a settlement.

We'll let you know when we find out.
