HARTSVILLE -- Darlington County Coroner Todd Hardee says three people died in a two-car crash on North Center Road near Hartsville about 8 p.m. Sunday.
Hardee says a car crossed the center line and hit another car head-on.
He says the driver of the car that crossed the center line, Sherman Christopher Covington, Jr., 23, of Darlington, died in the crash.
Michael Joseph Sylvester, 29, and his sister, G.C. Reaves, 23, both of Murrells Inlet, were in the car that was hit head on. They were also killed, says Hardee.
He says at least two other people were taken to the hospital. Their conditions have not been released.
Several family members gathered at the scene and were devastated over the crash. One man said one of the victims was his uncle and he couldn't believe he was gone.
Highway Patrol is investigating.
