FLORENCE -- Florence police have charged Demetrious Sparks, 20, with armed robbery, attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
Police say he and two other men tried to rob a man at Mount Zion Apartments on South Church Street in Florence, Thursday afternoon.
Officers say there was a struggle, and the victim and suspect were shot.
The victim was taken to the hospital and is OK.
The three men ran from the apartment, and Sparks later showed up at the hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound.
He was released Friday afternoon and immediately taken to the Florence County Detention Center.
This investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected.
