Deputies with the Florence County Sheriff's Office arrested six people early Tuesday morning and charged them with Attempted Burglary and Altering, Tampering with a Utility Meter.
According to investigators, Halique Rahsign Davenport, Kahseem Sayboa Davenpoort, Tony Dequan Manago, Jr., Marquis Zandui Hawkins, Raheem Demarge Hawkins pulled the power meter from a business at 1216 North Cashua Drive and attempted to break into the building by kicking in the front door.
Deputies arrived on the scene and observed the suspects running away. Deputies arrested them after a short foot chase.
The sixth suspect is a juvenile, whose charges will be handled through the Family Court.
"Catching these suspects in the act is a real tribute to our deputies," Sheriff Kenney Boone stated.
The investigation is ongoing with additional charges pending.
The suspects are being held at the Florence County Detention Center on bonds of $6500 each.
