Judge Michael Nettles has denied bond for Georgia Woodberry, 29, the woman accused of causing the wreck that killed a Florence nurse, Lori Pruett.
Pruett was traveling on National Cemetery Road at Freedom Boulevard April 5th when a car being chased by Woodberry crashed into her car after going through a red light, according to Florence County sheriff's deputies.
Pruett died at the scene.
Deputies say Woodberry was chasing her ex-boyfriend and his female friend. They say she shot into the car, hitting the woman in the leg.
Judge Nettles said even though Woodberry didn't have a prior criminal record, he was denying bond based on the seriousness of the charges against her.
Nettles said it appears Woodberry has a psychological imbalance, and he ordered a mental evaluation.
Woodberry is charged with Murder, Attempted Murder and Discharging a Firearm.
Lori Pruett's husband was in the court room for Thursday's hearing.
Dan Pruett said he and his wife had recently moved to Florence and fell in love with the community. He said he doesn't understand why this happened.
The couple's neighbor asked the judge to keep Woodberry in jail, saying she was a danger to the community.
Deputies say Woodberry had been stalking her former boyfriend for quite some time and knew the route he would travel.
Woodberry can request another bond hearing in six months.
