Daniel David, 49, of Bennettsville, was sentenced Friday in federal court in Florence for interstate transportation of stolen property.

United States District Judge R. Bryan Harwell sentenced David to 48 months in prison, with three years supervised release. David was also ordered to pay $47,319 in restitution and a money judgment of $52,494.

David and W.R. Douglas stole more than $50,000 worth of soybean and corn seeds, chemicals and a trailer from the Southern States store in Bennettsville.

They then took it to North Carolina and sold it to a farmer.

Evidence presented during the trial said the two had been stealing and selling farm tractors since 2005.

Douglas pled guilty and testified at the David's trial which was concluded January 25, when David was convicted.

The case was investigated by the Marlboro County Sheriffs Office and agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
