Myrtle Beach police responded to an attempted armed robbery about 11:30 p.m. Sunday at the Bank of America on Oak Street.
A woman was using the walk-up ATM, when a man wearing all black clothing approached her. He is described as wearing a light colored bandana around his face and possibly had dreads. The man then pointed a gun in the air and screamed for nobody to move.
According to the police report the man fired three shots in the air.
The victims friends were sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot when they heard the shots. They quickly tried to leave the bank.
The suspect fired shots at the vehicle as they were driving away.
No one was hurt, but the driver side door and the hood of the car were damaged.
