MYRTLE BEACH -- Myrtle Beach police say a motorcyclist was killed in a wreck at 7:18 Saturday morning in the area of 1112 3rd Avenue South.

Horry County Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler identified the victim as Kevin Dunmeyer, 39, of Charleston. Dunmeyer was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Autopsy results showed Dunmeyer died from mass trauma to the head and torso, according to Fowler. Fowler said it will be several weeks before toxicology reports are completed.

Police spokesman David Knipes says Dunmeyer's motorcycle collided with a car. NewsChannel 15 is waiting for Myrtle Beach police to release additional details about the cause of the wreck.

No charges have been filed at this time.
