According to the SC Election Commission, Fred Brantley, Steve Weaver, and Verd Odom have been disqualified from the primary following the SC Supreme Court ruling on May 2.

The ruling states candidates that did not file their Statement of Economic Interest forms either properly or on time were not eligible for the SC primary ballot.

The affected races include Marlboro County Sheriff, Marlboro County Clerk of Court and Marlboro County Council.

Earlier this week, Circuit Court Judge Paul Burch removed Johnny Sellers, Charles English and Ryan Mackey from the primary ballot after a lawsuit was filed by their opposition saying they were ineligible.

The candidates removed from the ballot can file to run as petition candidates in November.
