The Executive Director of the Florence Regional Airport, Hartsell Rogers, confirms to NewsChannel 15 that he resigned from the position effective Monday.

Rogers says he wants to spend more time with his grandchildren and flying with the Florence Civil Air Patrol.

Rogers stepped on board as airport director September 10, 2001. A day before the 9/11 terrorists attacks.

Rogers says he immediately had to adjust to new federal airport security changes, while learning the duties of his new job.

He says it's been a good 10 years. Rogers says his biggest success was the new concourse at the airport that opened last year.

His biggest disappointment was the loss of Delta Airlines, according to Rogers.

We called several members of the Pee Dee Regional Airport Authority for a comment on Rogers' resignation. They declined to comment saying it's a personnel matter.
