Special election held in Atlantic Beach
Atlantic Beach residents head to the polls Tuesday to vote in an election that was overturned last November.
The election is being held at First Missionary Baptist Church off Highway 17 in Atlantic Beach.
In March, Governor Nikki Haley ordered Horry County to oversee Tuesday's election after the November 2011 results were thrown out and the town's election commission failed to set a new date.
Since then, the incumbents have remained in office.
Polls opened at 7 a.m.
