Brandon A. Peluso, 21, of Myrtle Beach was arrested by the Georgetown County Sheriffs Office for criminal solicitation of a minor and attempted criminal sexual conduct with a minor.
According to arrest warrants, Peluso used an internet website ad to solicit sex from an individual he believed to be a minor child and engaging in conversations that were sexual in nature with that person. He's accused of traveling to meet the individual, who was in fact an undercover officer.
The Georgetown County Sheriffs Office is a member of the state's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. The Horry County Sheriffs Office assisted with the arrest.
Peluso was released Sunday on a $10,000 surety bond.
The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office.
