A third grade student is responsible for a written bomb threat found in the boy's bathroom at Lakewood Elementary School Thursday, according to Horry County Police Sgt. Robert Kegler.

The threat was found just before school was dismissed.

Horry County police will not file charges because the student is younger than ten years old, Kegler said.

School officials will take disciplinary action following a district hearing where the student and his parents are able to present their side, according to Horry County School Spokeswoman Teal Britton.

The student could face expulsion.
