Life in prison plus 20 years was the sentence handed down to a Mullins man for the murder of his wife and stabbing of his teenage stepson.
It took jurors about two and half hours to convict Edward Stackhouse of stabbing his wife to death in 2010 and then stabbing his 15-year-old step-son.
His step-son survived and was a key witness against Stackhouse.
Police say Stackhouse spent five months in jail for abusing his wife before he killed her.
