Mullins firefighters say around 2:45 p.m. Thursday afternoon, lightning struck the home next to Sole's Electric on Highway 76 between Marion and Mullins, causing a fire in the building.

Firefighters saw the lightning flash in near the building. Minutes later the Mullins Fire Department got a call from 911 dispatchers, saying flames were showing.

No one was home at the time and no one was hurt.
