North Myrtle Beach police say a woman shot herself in the shoulder in a hotel bathroom after the front desk staff wouldn't give her a room number.
They say she went into the lobby of the Beach Cove Resort at 4800 South Ocean Boulevard and asked the staff to give her the number to the room where her husband was staying.
Hotel staff is not allowed to give out that information unless the customer allows it.
When the staff told the woman they couldn't give her the number, police say she went into the lobby restroom and shot herself.
The wound is not considered life-threatening.
Public Information Officer Pat Dowling says they don't yet know if the woman is local or from out of town.
He says he will provide us with an update once police know more.
