A man faces life in prison for conspiring to sell drugs in the Shady Rest community of Bennettsville.
Federal officers say Demario Covington pleaded guilty Tuesday to a charge of Conspiring to Sell Crack and Cocaine.
Covington faces 20 years to life in prison and will be sentenced within 45 days.
He also faces charges of Accessory After the Fact and Conspiracy to Commit Murder in the killing of a Bennettsville man four years ago.
David Stuckey, 39, pleaded guilty Monday.
The indictment says Covington and Stuckey, along with ten other defendants in the same case, conspired to sell coke and crack since 1997.
The other ten defendants pleaded guilty months ago and Covington and Stuckey requested a trial. The jury in the trial was selected on Monday and on Monday evening Stuckey pleaded guilty. Covington pleaded guilty Tuesday morning just prior to opening statements.
