MYRTLE BEACH -- A former Myrtle Beach police officer pleaded guilty Monday to Felony DUI.

Larry Hardee was intoxicated when he ran a stop sign and killed a North Carolina motorcyclist during the Spring Harley Rally.

The wreck happened near the intersection of Sea Mountain Highway and Hill Street on May 18, 2011. The Myrtle Beach Police Department says Hardee served on the force for nearly 21 years.

He was sentenced to eight years in prison.
